Disney Cruise

Yes, it’s only really for those with kids, or people who are strangely fascinated by Disney characters. You may not have immediately considered a cruise but it’s a great add-on to a few days in Florida having spent time at Disney World or Universal Studios and Target Travel has booked a number of clients over the years. We think this is a better alternative than spending one or two weeks just in the theme parks, it works well sandwiched between a day or two before and after the parks. The cruises start from Port Canaveral, which is just about an hour from Orlando. You don’t even have to do a week onboard as there are four-night cruises which can be more suitable for those not convinced about ever doing a cruise.

The ship sails at night and docks during the day, various itineraries around the Caribbean with a different island each day, one of which is their own island ‘Castaway Key’, a great day on the beach with the full Disney experience. Dining on board is in a different themed restaurant every night, but for consistency and to make the children more comfortable, it’s always the same table number and waiting staff. Activities are constant, with every event on two or three times a day so there is nothing to miss and rarely a clash, lots of shows and events, as well as screening of new Disney movies. There is a separate kid’s pool, a shared one plus an adults-only pool. Kiddy clubs for all ages including a teenage den. With smaller children, there are pagers available for mum n dad. All the ship’s railings are very high with Perspex screens. There is an adult-only restaurant and a Spa. The ship is full of Disney characters meandering around and has a wonderful atmosphere.

If you’ve never cruised before, then one novelty you may not be aware of is the feeling of being able to go out every night without any hassle. The Disney ships also sail from the West Coast and around Europe in the summer.

Target Travel would be delighted to discuss with you integrating this into a Florida trip.
