All arrangements are tailor-made and are generally discussed and then built up in various stages, so are not fitted into a package. We will usually offer a selection of options for you to choose your priority of cost versus convenience and comfort. We thrive on advising and building up both extended trips and those to the more remote and unusual destinations around the world.

We at Target Travel are well-travelled ourselves and added to that the number of clients who have returned with their own reports, creating a valuable pool of knowledge, to enable us to discuss their suitability with you. We are independent and will not try to push you towards a specific supplier, so our recommendations to you will be unbiased.

Extended trips and to the more remote and unusual destinations are what we at Target Travel thrive on. In places such as South America, where language and security issues can be a concern to our clients, we have a network of trustworthy local agents that we have been working with for decades. These are usually the most well-established in each country, not necessarily the cheapest, but partners that have proven they are worth trusting and have helped out our clients in stressful situations in the past.

Round-the-world trips and sabbaticals

Target Travel has decades of experience in helping plan and book complex long duration trips around the world. These are usually for a full year, or for those with young families, just the summer months. Planning usually involves some considerable discussion on what you want to achieve, the places you want to see, and the amount of time available to you. We are happy to offer advice and help to inspire you with ideas, as well as book flights, hotels, and tours and offer immigration advice.

There are some specialist travel firms who focus on gap year students looking for the best deal to the ‘hot’ new place around the globe. Our clients tend to be different to this, many are taking a sabbatical for a few months and want to cram in a trip with their family, while others are looking for a year-long trip around the world as part of their life ‘changing into another gear’.

There are numerous Round the World fares (RTW) with a number of airline alliances, which is a minefield in itself. Each group has many fares for travel in each cabin, some are focused on the number of flights you buy, and some the number of stops you take. The fares and taxes (of which make up a large portion of the cost), are constantly in flux. Some airline alliances cover parts of the globe better than others, so we at Target Travel find it’s best to start with an open mind on who you should actually end up flying with.

Once decided on going around the world, our clients typically will want to squeeze in as many places as possible and produce a wish list. The realistic possibility of your initial plan will need to be reviewed and discussed in depth. This will be based on the time frame you have and most importantly the best season to arrive at the various points. Another aspect is the more exotic and far-flung destinations which are well worth making an effort to visit and stay longer. Compared with places that are more accessible from home, which could perhaps be reasonably easy to visit on a shorter trip at a later date.

We are able to arrange accommodation; rail travel; English-speaking tours and transfers for the whole trip, or just for separate sections if you wish. It is also possible to arrange the air travel at relatively short notice and then add the ground arrangements a month or so in advance as you travel around the globe. We can help with as much or as little of the trip as you wish. By far the best way to start is with a chat, don’t feel you have to write your ‘bucket list’ first.

PLEASE NOTE – Due to covid many flight routings are still suspended or have been dramatically reduced and because of this a couple of RTW options are presently suspended. The Great Escapade RTW fare a combination of Virgin Atlantic, Singapore Airlines, and Air New Zealand services has been withdrawn, as the latter is presently not operating the Atlantic / Pacific routing from London via Los Angeles to New Zealand. Skyteam has also suspended the sale of their RTW tickets.
